All Ivy and Friends Wine Tasting

Please join us on Friday, November 21, 2014 for the annual All Ivy and Friends Wine Tasting, which will be held at a new location this year -- Plum Court Wine Room (241 W Court St in Downtown, at the corner of Plum and Court streets -- look for the red door). Alumni of all ages are invited to join for good company and celebration. Spouses, significant others, guests and friends are most certainly welcome. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for meeting and greeting.

There will be six wines poured to complement the truly outstanding gourmet fare prepared by the culinary artists of Plum Court Wine Room (see menu below). Our featured guest of the evening will be celebrated winemaker Nancy Bentley, owner of Kinkead Ridge Winery, recently inducted into the Cincinnati Culinary Hall of Fame by Les Amis d'Escoffier at a spectacular dinner in the Hilton Netherland! We hope you will join for this unique event.

Discounted online advance ticket sales close at 2:00 p.m. on November 21, 2014. Otherwise, tickets are $50/person at the door (cash only, if space is still available). Space is limited for this exclusive, private venue.

Those shopping for holiday gifts or for delicious wines to pair with Thanksgiving meals should note that bottles of wines tasted at the event will be specially discounted for purchase this night only! Case discounts apply!

Those who registered by November 17 will be entered into a raffle for the first (of three) bottles of wine - winner's choice among the wines tasted. The second raffle will be for all who have pre-purchased their tickets online (by November 20), and the third raffle will be for all attendees (including door guests). The winner of each raffle will be excluded from the subsequent raffles.

Wines

Cabernet Sauvignon - well structured, lighter in style, displays classic aromas of red fruit and black cherry.
Cabernet Franc - the wine displays a harmonious complexity with cherry overtones and modest tannins. Aged in premium American and French oak barrels.
Traminette - a new world hybrid grape with a character reminiscent of Gewürztraminer from Alsace.
Riesling - the perfect Thanksgiving wine! Off dry. Honeysuckle, apple and rose petal notes precede a flinty finish.
Viognier/Roussanne - a Rhone style blend with the kiwi and guava aromas of Roussanne merging with the orange blossom and golden raisin aromas of Viognier.
White Revelation - a winegrower's blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Albariño and Pinot Blanc.

FAQs

Who can attend?

All alumni are welcome, even if your club/school does not formally participate. Spouses, significant others, guests and friends are most certainly invited to join.

What are my parking options?

What is the dress code?

While there is no official dress code for the All Ivy and Friends Wine Tasting, as you might guess, many attendees will be coming from work dressed in business or business casual attire, while others will come dressed for dinner or other outings after the event. Casual attire is acceptable.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No. For pre-paid registrants, as long as you have your photo identification (driver's license) with you, you can be checked in at the door.

What is the refund policy?

Unfortunately, because the venue must plan for the amount of food and wine in advance, no refunds can be offered. However, should the need arise, you can transfer your registration online to a friend, though this must be done prior to the event as the registration must match the name on the attendee's photo identification to be checked in at the door.
